Winners of the Annual 2013 IntelliGenesis LLC, Neal Sullivan Memorial Scholarship in Technology
This year we celebrated with the three winners of our annual IntelliGenesis LLC, Neal Sullivan Memorial Scholarship with food and fun at Hullihan’s in Columbia. The winners were Owen McMahan, George Rought and Alexander Medeiros. All of these fine young men attend the Carroll County Career and Technology Center and we were very impressed with their academic accomplishments thus far and wish each of them much success in the future.

Women In Technology Announces Winners of 14th Annual Leadership Awards
Angie Lienert, President of IntelliGenesis LLC, headquartered in Columbia, MD, has just been named winner of the 2013 Women in Technology (WIT) Leadership Award in the Corporate: Public Sector Small Business category. WIT’s annual Leadership Awards honor the women in Greater Washington who connect, lead, and succeed in their professional endeavors.
These prestigious awards honor leading female professionals who have excelled as mentors and exemplified unique vision as well as embody the WIT mission. Winners were celebrated at a Banquet on April 18, at the Hyatt Regency in Reston.
The award recognizes exemplary leadership traits, an accelerated career, forward risk-taking, exceptional results in community-related work, and mentorship of women in the workplace. The other finalists in this category were Melissa Logsdon, CEO of Thermopylae Sciences and Tec Technology LLC and Kimberliey Wasko, Senior Vice President of The Moore Group.
Says Angie, “This is a very personal award. It means so much to be recognized for a program I believe in whole-heartedly. I am particularly happy for my fellow Women in Tech colleagues who are truly proving to be ‘architects of change in the technology industry.’”

IG Makes BBJ Software Development List
The March 8-14, 2013 Edition of the Baltimore Business Journal announced their list of the 25 Largest Software Development Firms in the Baltimore Area. IntelliGenesis made their debut on the list at number 13.

WIT Networking at IG
IntelliGenesis hosted a training event for Women In Technology (WIT) at the Columbia office on February 27th. The focus of the training was networking and tricks to remembering names.
A big thank you to all the women, and the event’s sponsor -M&T Bank’s Greg Smith, who attended WIT training. We had a great showing, learned some great tips and
practiced our networking skills. The benefits of attending these WIT events and networking sessions is to build confidence and expand your network in a comfortable environment.
Here are some of the helpful tips the trainer, Marcia, shared:
- When you make initial introductions, be sure to repeat the person’s name.
- Try to make a comment or association with your name.
- When you introduce yourself, help others remember your name by giving them a tip. And example would be “Hi. My name is Angie… like Angie’s List.”
- Be prepared -make your networking count. Ask open ended questions and try to stimulate meaningful conversation. What do you want to get out of your network event? What can you offer someone else?

SmartCEO Voltage and WIT Leadership Finalist
IntelliGenesis and Angie Lienert, President and CEO, have been named finalists for the Baltimore SmartCEO VOLTAGE and Women In Technology (WIT) Leadership Awards respectively.
SmartCEO’s VOLTAGE Awards celebrate the role that technology plays in our business community and the future impact the technology sector will have on our economic growth. As a finalist, IntelliGenesis will be profiled in the May issue of Baltimore SmartCEO magazine and will be celebrated at an awards ceremony on May 9, 2013 at the Westin, BWI.
The WIT Leadership Awards program honors outstanding women working in the Greater Washington, D.C. region who have exemplified unique vision, inspiring leadership and mentorship in the technology industry. Angie Lienert has been selected as a finalist in the Corporate Public Sector Small Business category for the 14th Annual WIT Leadership Awards. All finalists and winners will be recognized during an Awards banquet which will be held on April 18, 2013 at the Reston Hyatt.
